- Of these carbonfibre-bodied cars, a number were tinted in colours: blue, green, orange, purple, red.

- Each were repurposed former Experimental Prototypes (XP) and Production Prototypes (PP): more specifically, 4 XP and 1 PP units.

- Interior: Black alcantara with diamond-stitched seats with red thread
- Wheels: Stealth with red pinstriping

- Created by a partnership between Lanzante Motorsport with McLaren Automotive using a blend of both GTR, P1 road car, and newly developed parts.

- 'LM' in the name denotes 'Lanzante Motorsport', not 'Le Mans'.
- All five customers were closely involved with the development.
- Used and tested McLaren's brand new 4.0 litre engine.

- Substantially enhanced aerodynamic package.
- 4 cars were finished in Papaya Orange and 2 were finished in Ueno Clinic Grey as a nod to the production of the F1 LM.

- Of the 5 customer cars, only two were delivered to the same continent. Two remained in Europe, while the other three went to the Middle East, the United States and to the Far East.

- In May 2017 the XP1 LM set a new record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife for 'non-series' road legal cars with an 6:43.22 lap.
